Day 1
It’s been awhile since I’ve plan for a short trip after my last holiday to Langkawi in June 2012! So, I’ve made up my mind to go to somewhere cooling than Singapore! Though it’s just to our neighbouring country, Malaysia, I’ve had a great relaxing time enjoying myself somewhere up there beyond the beautiful sky, between the clouds! Where to?? Read on!
Booked the package for 3D2N First World Hotel + Rtn Coach at Grassland for $105 per pax! I should have come earlier to get their promotion which is fully booked instead of purchasing from Groupon which has given me great problems booking. Anyway, since the normal coach has been fully taken up, therefore, we were given an option to depart using their VIP coach with an add-on of $10. So initially, everything should cost $95. Since that’s the only option given and when asked, there wasn’t any other options, I took it up without hesitation.
Wonder why?? ‘Cause Grassland is SUPER EFFICIENT! They are able to confirm my bookings right on the spot and confirm everything without any delays or waiting time! And that’s what I like about it. Furthermore, due to some hiccups with WTS Travel Agency deal bought on groupon, I was short of time so it’s considered last minute bookings! Since I’ve applied my off days only from 4-6 Nov 12, I have to ensure that my plans are not ruined by some unefficient and uncompromising service of sorts.
Well, let me take you through my smooth journey with Grassland to….
Woke up at 5.45am when we’re suppose to be catching the 1st MRT train at 5.45a.m. Aaaaarghhhhh! Late! Taxi!!! Really love the view as the sun rises! Should do this often! ( But will I?… =) )

We reached pretty early and so we decided to check-in to Grassland first to get our depart voucher for bus no. It was totally hassle free! Just show them the receipt of your bookings and they issue you your depart voucher / slip with bus no. and reporting time. Since it’s still early, we walked to the nearest minimart near Textile Centre to grab some drinks and titbits for our 7hr long journey! Then went back to the bus waiting area and get our money changed and waited for our bus. The bus arrived early and we walked to where it parked and board it! Very easy! They will check prior to departure. Here’s where our bus parked! Saw the yellowy orange? That’s it!
Bus depart right on time, without delays, thanks to all passengers who board the bus on time. =)
Bye Singapore!! Some photos taken of Singapore while on the way to Tuas Checkpoint! I love those shots! Don’t you???

And here’s some photos taken in the bus. The bags compartment are pretty small to fit in a normal size backpack so we had to place our bags close to our feet! Pretty inconvenient but thanks to the spacious room for feet and legs stretcher and adjustable back, we had a good time sleeping through before reaching Yong Peng – first stop for toilet and breakfast!

Don’t be surprised if you find that the remotes for the TV and legs and back stretcher are not working at first because the driver might activate only after everyone has managed to go through Tuas checkpoint. From there, all remotes are activated and you can feel free to watch those movies already downloaded for your viewing! Sadly, mine isn’t working! =(
Reached Yong Peng at 10:10am, about 2hrs later. We bought Mee Soto at RM6.80 and meat bun which is very round & big at RM4.80. No pics as the hungry bears gobbled it all up before pics can be taken! =)
Journey continues at 10:40am.
2 hours later, we’ve reached 2nd stop for toilet break! Starts getting a little cold!

Ain’t the architecture wonderful? I love it even if you don’t! =)

Seriously, the lobby was very crowded but it’s beautiful too! I’ve been here about 10 yrs ago? And almost everything remains the same as far as I could remember!
Yes!! We are at Genting Highland! =)

Feeling excited all over again like a small kid, I wanted to quickly leave the room as soon as we have unpacked our stuff.
Sadly, the outdoor theme park closes at 6pm. By the time we wanted to purchase the tickets, it was already about 4+pm so we decided to go tomorrow instead.
And what do we do tonight on the 1st day? Walk around and look for food and play arcade games maybe? I didn’t know that the Strawberry Farm opens till 7pm, otherwise I would opt to go there on the 1st day since visiting the area takes short time!
There are performance such as the magic show, dance performance and many more! And gannam style is still the ‘in-thing’ here!

We watched the magician with much enthusiasm. I do agree that he’s quite good indeed!

I bought waffles at 1 of the shop. Wanted Chocolate & Blueberry but apparently all the berries are gone! So, I stupidly chose chocolate and peanut which is an utter fail combination! YUCK! I finished 3/4 of it though! Waste no $ and think of the poor…. RM6 No pics cause I forgot to take it! =)
Next, snow world! Nooo pics cause we aren’t allowed to bring in our cameras inside! SOB SOB! When we saw people bringing in their own camera, we were like, ‘DAMN!’ The photographers inside took our photos and present us with a voucher for redeeming our photos. Payable upon collection. -_-
Paid RM25/pax for the Snow World and well, I shall say that it is beautiful but very small! Very little snow flakes falling yet VERY cold! My nose turned red VERY quickly right after we entered! And my nose felt numb after a few minutes! Should have brought my snow cap from Kota Kinabalu to use which can cover my nose! Oh,coats, boots & gloves are provided.
Upon exit, there’ll be a computer station for you to view your pics. Honestly, when I get to see the pics, I was so hooked to buy it! BUT! The price stops me! Freaking expensive! 2pics for RM50, a size of 6×8 is RM40 and a globe+6×8 is RM70! Gosh!!! I really want the pics!! Discussed with him and decided to let it go. Yeah, let it go with a heavy heart. Our verdict, ‘It’s ok, we’ll go to a winter country 1 day and take more REAL pics and much much beautiful ones! I’d buy that! Who wouldn’t! =)
Here’s Genting Highland Snow World from the outside!

Yup! That’s how it looks inside and yes, everyone can watch you play from the transparent window!
Next stop! Dinner time!! We settle down at Kenny Rogers. Yum yum!! There’s no halal Kenny Rogers in Singapore so I get very very very happy and excited to eat here.
We had Beef Bolognaise that comes with a muffin and mocktail Jewel Treasure drinks, Kenny’s 1/4 Meal with 3 side dishes inclusive and I chose garlic baked potatoes, pasta salad and Mac&Cheese! Had ice water for drink! Total cost RM 54 (rounded off). Seriously, when I’ve reached Sg and looked at the receipt, I realised that they charged both meals as Kenny’s 1/4 Meal! But it’s ok, earlier on, I had a small issue. I ordered my meal first and forgot about our Snow world which starts at 5:20pm so we had to hold our order and the kind waiter hold for us and by the time, he wasn’t there! It’s my bad for not getting his name! I don’t want him to be paying for us!
Anyway, here’s the pics!

The bears couldn’t help it! We were very hungry and so the big bear ate his muffins first while the small cute bear tasted the chicken and it’s awesomely JUICY!

The drink is nice and muffin is superbly delicious!
Ok, next, we walk around and look for things to do and came across the Genting Bowl! Bowling is our favourite hobby but here, there’s a twist to it! Glow in the dark bowling! Now, where can you get that in Sg? Nowhere! And with loud awesome music?? NONE! we had great time! The vibe keeps you energetic! A must go for every bowling lovers!
RM12/pax, RM9 for bowling & RM3 for shoes. So we only played 1 game each.

Next, archery! RM9 for Std 12 arrows.

How was that? Not bad huh? =) That was the last activity for our 1st day. We felt exhausted so after one last round of window shopping, we head back to the hotel room and rest.
