Pulau Perhentian Kincir Angin / The Windmill
After an hour rest, we get ready for a little hike up to Kincir Angin also known as ‘The Windmill’ located on a hill at the Perhentian Kecil. What can you do there? View the photos below;

Yeap, after a short 15 – 30 minutes of hiking, we were welcomed by a great viewpoint that opens up to South of China Sea. It was such a breathtaking sight looking at the magnificent shimmery hues of blue shades with the lushest greens around. Standing right there while enjoying the panoramic sea view, makes me feel grateful for being there.
So what else did we do? We had a splashing time, of course! Jumping into the water, swimming and just goofing around enjoying the cool water in the sunny weather. There’s no corals here but if you go further up, you might be able to snorkel with great views under. Which is not advisable. It’s best to hire a boat for that or take up the snorkelling package that is available on the Islands. We were there for about 1 – 2 hours before getting back to the Island for dinner.
Getting back would mean a little walk back up the stairs and descending the hill where we ascend from. But because most of them were exhausted, we decided to go back by boat. Lucky us, there were boats around so we manage to grab both boats. The fee charged is rm5 per person. Luckily I brought enough cash to cover my boat for the rest who did not have any notes with them.
The ride takes less than 10 minutes to reach Coral Beach where we had our afternoon meals and snacks of ice-creams, coconut and ice kacang. There are a variety of shops to eat from. So just look through the menus and pick a place.
How to get there?
There are 2 ways to get there. One is via boat where you just have to pay the boatman or another way is to hike up from an entrance near the long beach. If you are not sure, kindly ask for a guide and negotiate a fee with them.
GPJB president and vice-president have been here many times so they are the ones who guided this hike.
***Please Note:
The stairs going down to the Beach at Kincir Angin is quite dangerous. There are missing wooden steps that causes big holes. So kids strictly need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
And guys, while you are mesmerized by the view, watch your steps please.
Also please do a simple light warm-up if you are not used to short hikes. We had 1 team member who got leg cramped even before we started but he managed to reach the top! Slowly, but surely, guys! If a mother can hike up carrying her baby with her and a few of our big sized team members can complete the hike, I’m sure you can too! No excuse!
I hope this inspires you to come visit the Islands in Malaysia! What are you waiting for?
Xoxo;
